NHYF wins the 7th grade championship in the Shoreline Youth Football Conference

The NH 7th Graders won their 2nd consecutive Shoreline Youth Football Conference Championship when they beat previously undefeated Madison 30-0 on Sunday. NH finished the season with a 10-1 overall record, and are once again Shoreline Champions. NH started the game with the same intensity that they finished, when they recovered the opening kickoff on a Madison fumble. After a scoreless first quarter, NH scored first in the 2nd quarter when Julian Martinez ran for a 15 yard TD score. Ricky Stober, who has been consistent all year, added the 2 point conversion kick, to give NH the 8-0 lead. The Madison offense had no answer for the hard nose play of NH's defense, with the defensive line playing a key role in stopping the Madison run all day. Nick Sarraco, Patrick Edwards, Steven Erbe, and Gabe Martinez, all played big up front, while Zach Orth, Mark Montano, Joey Gargano, and Steven Chambelain contained the outside. NH scored its second TD of the game when Mark Montano returned a punt for a score, on a hard fought run. Stober added another 2 point kick to put NH up 16-0 heading into the half. NH increased its lead to 24-0 when Julian Martinez, who contributed on 3 of NH's scores, threw a beautiful 65 yard TD pass to Montano in the third quarter, Stober added his third conversion kick of the day. NH's offensive line of Andrew Puzone, Luigi Coppola, Vinny Campaqnoulo, Steven Chamberlain, Patrick Edwards, and Eddie Tosado all opened running lanes for the successful NH running game. Julian Martinez capped the NH scoring when he scampered in from 3 yards out to give NH a 30-0 victory.

NHYF wins the 5th grade championship in the Shoreline Youth Football Conference

The NH 5th graders went to Championship Sunday and took the 1st place trophy home with a 24-7 win over a competitive Cheshire team. The game started with Ethan Okwuosa running back the opening kickoff 73 yards to put North Haven up 6-0 in the first 10 seconds of the game and the 5th graders never looked back. The defense played a great game with Noah Perillie and Jack Priebe containing the outside with each having a tackle for loss of yards; Jack also had a fumble recovery. Max Rivera, Kyle Maruca, Luke Maruca and Joe Ranciato kept Cheshire from running through the defensive line. Joe Vitale, Joe Wenzel, Jeff Williston and Alphonse Piscitelli held up the linebacker core with multiple tackles to hold Cheshire's running backs at bay. Jaden Watson, Joe Urtel and Donny McInnis interrupted the passing game with Donny having a blocked pass and Joe scoping the Quarterback and intercepting a pass. Joe Wenzel added a 51 yard touchdown run in the second quarter to put North Haven up 12-0 going into halftime. Tyler Jacques, Chris Hansen, Griffin Symon, Max Rivera and Joe Wenzel all ran hard in the second half to help Ethan score two more touchdowns. John Degregorio and Joe Hendricks snapped the ball all game perfectly and Jaden Luedee, Kyle Rollier, Jesse Lake, Luke Fitzpatrick, Frankie Squeglia and Caleb Norris helped the offensive line produce running lanes for the running backs. Laekhram Singh recovered a fumble at the ending minutes of the game to help North Haven cap there season with a Championship win. A undefeated season for the 5th graders who went 10-0 and they couldn't have done it without the help from all the coaches and the parents.

NH Funeral Home wins 2012 Flag Championship

2012 NHYF Flag Champs - NH Funeral Home
Congratulations to NH Funeral Home on winning the 2012 NHYF Flag championship Saturday with a 6-0 win over Pool & Patio.

North Haven Funeral Home (6-2) won their last game of the regular
season to earn them the right to play against Pool and Patio (7-1) in
the Youth Flag Football Championship Game on Saturday, 11/3/12 ay
Vanacore Field. The only loss Pool and Patio had all season was at the
hands of North Haven Funeral home at the midseason point but Pool and
Patio was missing a key player due to an injury.
The Championship Game lived up to its billing and was the most
exciting game of the season. North Haven Funeral Home's Matt Dodge
went 38 yards on a sweep right in the second quarter for a touchdown
but the extra point was not successful. Pool and Patio made their
adjustments defensively and did not allow another score all game. On
the final drive, with 2:32 and 2 timeouts left in the game, Pool and
Patio took a handoff and ran down the left side of the field for what
appeared to be a game tying touchdown but the runner had stepped out
of bounds at the 45 yard line. With the clock ticking down, North
Haven Funeral Home kept stopping the potent running attack but with
each play, Pool and Patio kept getting closer and closer to the end
zone. With no timeouts left and with only 8 seconds on the clock, Pool
and Patio tried one last time to drive right up the middle on North
Haven's Funeral Homes unrelenting defense. With the crowd screaming
and the clock showing 0, North Haven Funeral Homes Defense tackled the runner
at the 3 yard line to seal the Championship.

What a game.... North Haven Youth Football Program wins.
